Petrol - tend to be faster, smoother and quieter than diesel cars.
Diesel - tend to offer more pulling power (torque) from low revs compared to petrols, which is useful when towing or overtaking.
Electric - cars will only run from electricity and emit zero emissions. A downfall is limited range per charge.
Hybrid - cars combine electric and either a petrol or diesel engine. A good comprimise between practicality and efficiency.
